Ghana is celebrated as a beacon of peace and stability in West Africa, but it faces challenges that underscore the need for proactive peacebuilding efforts. Ethnic and chieftaincy, land, and political disputes continue to pose a recurring threat to Ghana’s stability.
To address these issues and promote sustainable peace, ASFIT, in collaboration with local and international partners, continues to foster dialogue and trust-building as a way of bridging divides across ethnic, political, and religious communities.
In line with our vision of mobilizing and empowering a new generation of peacebuilders, ASFIT is proud to announce the Ghana Peace Camp 2024!
What is Ghana Peace Camp?
The Ghana Peace Camp is ASFIT’s annual flagship initiative. The camp brings together young people from diverse backgrounds, communities, and regions across Ghana for 3 days of learning, networking and knowledge-sharing. The camp is designed to equip participants with vital skills in leadership, conflict transformation, negotiation, and interpersonal communication; tools necessary for personal growth and meaningful contributions to peacebuilding efforts in their communities.
Participants will engage in activities that foster understanding and unity, such as sharing meals, life stories, and perspectives. These experiences will enhance their socio-cultural connectivity and offer hands-on exploration of peacebuilding concepts, reconciliation approaches, and collective action initiatives aimed at fostering positive change.
